Marriage

Marriage is celebrated throughout the year and is open to all, regardless of parish membership. Arrangements must be made at least six months in advance.

We have Saturday weddings at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 5:30 pm and on Sundays at 2:00 pm. We are also open to Friday and weekday weddings. Couples have the use of the church for a total of 2 hours; beginning 1/2 hour before the start time of the Mass or ceremony. Rehearsals are typically held on the Friday before the wedding at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm.

The one calendar glitch we face is that we do not have weddings on BC Football game days and the schedule is typically not published until January of the season year. Occasionally, there are special offsite games that are scheduled earlier which create calendar openings way before the January publication.

One of the parish priests here preside at the wedding or, couples are welcome to have a priest of their choosing. Friends, relatives and other parish priests are all welcome, but there may be different paperwork required for each. Some of the pre-marriage paperwork is handled here in the Parish Office and some of it is handled by the priest who is presiding at the marriage. We do not offer Pre-Cana classes here at the parish, but we can advise couples on where to go.

The fee for use of the church is $950 ($400 is non refundable) and receipt of the fee guarantees the space on the calendar. Musicians are additional with a minimum of an organist $200 and cantor $175. All of the music arrangements are done directly with our Associate Director of Music, Matthew Anderson, several months prior to the wedding. Contact him at andersyw@bc.edu for more information.

Reviewing the calendar is best done by phone, so please call the office at 617-552-6102 when you are ready with or want to review dates.
